ORMOLU

Heb je ooit gehoord van Ormolu?? Nee? Nou, ik ook niet hoor. Totdat ik de winnaar was van challenge 150 van Scrapping the Music! Mijn prijs was een waardebon van $20 die ik mocht besteden in de online-shop van Ormolu. En ik was onder de indruk van al het moois dat ik daar zag!! Met moeite heb ik een keuze kunnen maken en al heel snel viel de envelop uit Amerika op m'n mat. 

Have you ever heard of Ormolu?? No? Well, me neither, untill the moment I was the winner of challenge no. 150 of Scrapping the Music! My prize was a 20$ gift certificate of Ormolu and I was impressed by all the gorgeous stuff I saw there! It was hard to pick my favorites but I did and it didn't take long before my envelope arrived.

Alweer maandag...

Ik hoop dat jullie (net als ik) een fijn, zonnig weekend gehad hebben!

Natuurlijk heb ik ook weer gescrapt, deze keer heb ik weer eens een layout gemaakt voor Scrapping the Music. Ik las de tekst van 'We are going to be Friends' en bij één zin wist ik meteen: daar heb ik de perfecte foto voor!

Let me show you the reason why I got it:

Jenneke deserves a copy of it! She kept her mouth shut
when I had to tell her I made test articles for Creatief met Foto’s!
It was so funny: I wrote an article to go with Jenneke’s layouts
and I had a question for her. So I called her and she almost fell off
her chair when she got me on the phone! I asked her to keep it
a secret until it would be clear if my articles were good enough…
and she did!

Vooral de reden waarom ik deze award heb gekregen vind ik zo leuk! Het zat nl zo. Op een ochtend gaat mijn telefoon. Ik neem op en een vrouwenstem zegt : met Marit Barentsen. En dat is dan zooo raar!! Je 'kent' de persoon die bij die naam hoort maar verwacht absoluut niet om die aan de telefoon te krijgen. Die naam hoort bij een blog, bij iemand waarmee je via internet contact hebt! Maar ineens had ik Marit in levende lijve aan de lijn, zo leuk!! Wat bleek: ze moest een proefopdracht maken voor Creatief met Foto's en had een doos met layouts opgestuurd gekregen. Mijn layouts! En omdat ze daar een vraagje over had, hadden we dit onverwachte gesprekje. Op één voorwaarde: ik moest m'n mond houden want het was allemaal natuurlijk nog niet definitief. Ik heb het geheim kunnen houden en als dank hiervoor krijg ik deze award. Dankjewel Marit en héél veel succes met je schrijfwerk voor CmF!!

Nu is het de bedoeling dat ik deze award doorgeef aan 3 anderen en dat vind ik dan zoooo moeilijk! Maar goed, ik heb 3 namen uitgekozen.

Okay, now I have to pick 3 names to pass this award to... 

1. PETRA Zij was m'n allereerste 'scrapheld'! Toen ik pas begon met deze geweldige hobby zag ik een editie van het Scrapbookmagazine waar een aantal layouts van haar in stonden en ik was verkocht!! Ben nog steeds een enorme fan van haar stijl en heb haar ook meerdere malen 'in 't eggie' ontmoet. Dankjewel Petra, voor onze (scrap)vriendschap! She was my first 'scrap-hero'! When I just started this great hobby, I saw some layouts from her in a Dutch magazine and I adored them! I'm still a huge fan of her style and we met several time i.r.l. Thanks Petra, for this (scrap)friendship!
2. AMY. Ik weet nog goed dat ik een keer midden in de nacht (kon weer eens niet slapen..) aan het bloghoppen was en toevallig op haar blog terecht kwam. Ze had een leuke give-away, ik heb daar op gereageerd, heb gewonnen en vanaf dat moment is er een speciale band tussen ons ontstaan. Ze is een heel bijzonder persoon en ik hoop haar ooit nog eens in levende lijve te mogen ontmoeten!!  I still remember the moment I was bloghopping in the middle of the night (couldn't sleep...) and won her give away. From that moment our online friendship was born! She's a very, very special person for me and I do hope we'll ever meet in real live!! Big hug to you, dear Amy!
3. MANDY. Eén van mijn favoriete scrappers, iedere layout die ze maakt is een waar kunstwerk! Onlangs heb ik een beslissing genomen die lastig voor me was omdat ik het gevoel had dat ik haar teleurstelde en 'in de steek liet'.. Ze heeft me verzekerd dat dit absoluut niet het geval is, maar toch, het voelt niet fijn. Binnenkort kan ik jullie hier meer over vertellen. Daarom deze award voor jou, Mandy. Om het een beetje goed te maken. One of my all time favorite scrappers, every page she made is a real piece of art!! Some weeks ago I made a descision that was hard for me because I had the feeling I would let her down. She assured me this wasn't the case, but the feeling remains.. That's why I give you this award, Mandy. To make it up with you..;-)

Wat is jouw favoriete muziek??

Die vraag stellen we je bij de nieuwste challenge van These Are a Few of my Favorite Things. Ik vond het heel lastig om hier antwoord op te geven, heb eigenlijk niet één favoriete muziekstijl. Sommige muziek vind ik op radio of cd absoluut niet leuk om naar te luisteren, zoals jazz of blues, maar 'live' vind ik het dan wel weer leuk. En daar gaat mijn layout dan ook over, live-muziek. Ik heb foto's gebruikt van concerten van Lionel Richie, Robbie Williams, Rolling Stones en (natuurlijk, lol) Paul de Leeuw.

Ik heb de woorden 'there's a change in my life since you came' gekozen en de foto van Niek en mij vlak na zijn geboorte past hier zo goed bij. Want wat verandert je leven op het moment dat je voor de eerste keer moeder wordt!

My final GDT layout for STM. Change in my life of Hanson is the song where it's all about this week. I picked the words 'there's a change in my life since you came' and scrapped a picture of Niek and me shortly after he was born. I think this is the perfect picture because my life changed soooo much the moment he was born!

Donderdag was het echt prachtig weer! Ruud en waren in Belt-Schutsloot en zijn aan het begin van de avond een eindje wezen varen. Wat is het er toch prachtig!!

Thursday the weather was amazing. Ruud and I were at Belt-Schutsloot and at the beginning of the evening we went for a small sailing trip. The surroundings are so beautiful!!

Helaas is het weer helemaal omgeslagen en is het maar goed dat we de winterjas nog niet opgeruimd hebben..

Unfortunately the weather changed completely and we need our winterclothes again..

STM , Kreatorville Krafts and an Award!

Hier is mijn GDT layout voor de nieuwste challenge van Scrapping the Music.

'Just Fine' van Mary J. Blige is het liedje waar het deze keer allemaal om draait. Mooie tekst en het is erg leuk om te zien dat het DT over het algemeen allemaal een andere zin heeft gebruikt.

Ik werd direct geinspireerd door de woorden: 'Feels so good, when you're doing all the things that you want to do. Get the best out of life, treat yourself to something new'. Ruud heeft nl een tijdje geleden z'n motorrijbewijs gehaald, iets wat al heel lang z'n grote wens was! En nu heeft hij dan ook eindelijk een motor gekocht! Hij is helemaal happy!!

Here is my GDT layout for the latest challenge of Scrapping the Music.

It's all about the song 'Just Fine' by Mary J. Blige. Great lyrics and I like it so much that the DT almost all used different lyrics for their layouts.

I was inspired by these lyrics: Feels so good, when you're doing all the things that you want to do. Get the best out of life, treat yourself to something new'. A few months ago Ruud got his motor driver's license. And now he finally has bought his own motor, something he wished for a long time! He's so happy now!

Dan mijn GDT layout voor Scrapping the Music. Het liedje wat centraal staat is 40 Dogs van Bob Schneider. Ik heb de woorden The Color of the Moon gebruikt. De foto van de zonsondergang is gemaakt tijdens een vakantie op Kreta. Deze week heb ik trouwens de mooiste zonsondergang ooit gezien, in Nederland nog wel. Prachtige kleuren!! Verderop in deze post zal ik er foto's van laten zien.

Again a GREAT picture of my two girls. Do you see the way they look at each other???? Sooo cute!!!

Misschien kennen jullie de uitspraak van Johan Cruyff wel: Ieder nadeel heeft z'n voordeel.

Daar moet ik de laatste dagen steeds aan denken als ik het nieuws hoor over de vulkaanuitbarsting in IJsland met als gevolg dat het luchtruim boven Nederland en een groot gedeelte van Europa gesloten is voor het vliegverkeer. Vreselijk vervelend natuurlijk voor al die mensen die nu niet van A naar B kunnen! Maar geweldig voor de mensen die in de omgeving van Schiphol wonen, wat zal het daar nu heeeeerlijk rustig zijn!

En zelf heb ik er ook van genoten, donderdagavond, tijdens een schitterende zonsondergang. Nog nooit heb ik de lucht en het water zulke prachtige kleuren zien hebben! Door de as kleurde de lucht niet oranje maar rood en het water leek wel paars!

A famous Dutch football player, Johan Cruyff, always says: every disadvantage has an advantage.

I have to think about that saying a lot, this last week, because of  the eruption of a vulcano on Iceland. Because of that eruption and the wind that blows the ashes over Europe, no airplanes are allowed to fly to and from all airports in Holland and surrounding countries since last thursday! Of course this is terrible for all those passengers that are stranded at the airports for several days and for everyone who has to go from A to B, but there are also a lot of people who are very happy with this situation! For example the people who live near Schiphol and the other airports...they adore the silence of the last days!!

And I enjoyed it too, last thursday evening, during a gorgeous sunset! I've never seen such beautiful colors of the sky and the water. Because of the ashes the sky didn't turn orange but red and the water was purple..

En niet alleen 's avonds is het een prachtig gezicht, ook overdag is de lucht nu strak blauw, zonder vliegtuigstrepen...

And not only in the evening it looks wonderful, also in the daytime the sky is sooo blue, without any stripes of the airplanes..

Prachtig he? Voor mij mag het luchtruim nog wel een tijdje gesloten blijven..
